Tottenham fans react as Christian Eriksen departs for Inter Milan

Tottenham have today announced that Christian Eriksen has departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to sign for Inter Milan.

The news was reported on the club’s official website and sees the Dane end his seven-year association with the Londoners.

Eriksen’s contract was due to expire in the summer and Tottenham have cashed in for £16.9 million (BBC).

The 27-year-old has been a decent servant for Spurs over the years.

His brilliance saw them reach a Champions League final last season against the odds.

All that was missing from his time at the club was a trophy and he will leave the Tottenham fans with some fond memories.

In 305 appearances for Spurs, he scored 69 goals and registered 89 assists.

Eriksen has scored 31 goals during his 95 Denmark caps and at his best, he was a feared Premier League player.

His peak form wasn’t evident this season, however, with Eriksen contributing to just six goals this campaign.

The time seemed right for the club to part with the player and receive some money before losing him on a free in the summer.
