Tottenham fans react as Armando Shashoua scores against Ipswich Town

Armando Shashoua got on the scoresheet buy could not prevent the Tottenham Hotspur U21 team from losing last night. Spurs’ youth side took on League One high-flyers Ipswich Town in the EFL Trophy.

It was a chance for some of Tottenham’s youngsters to test themselves against senior players. Ipswich are unbeaten this season and sit top of League One so it was a tough test, even though the Tractor Boys did make several changes.

Eventually, Ipswich proved too strong for Tottenham’s U21 side. Wayne Burnett’s side were beaten 2-1 by Ipswich thanks to a double from Jordan Roberts. Ipswich took all three points in the group game of the EFL Trophy.

Tottenham took an early lead and it was Shashoua who got the goal. After just eight minutes, the 18-year-old slotted underneath Will Norris to give Tottenham U21s the advantage. It was his first goal of the season after stepping up from the U18 squad.
