Youri Tielemans has told Sky Sports that he is “flattered” to be linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – and Spurs fans have reacted by urging their club to land the Belgian midfielder.
Sky Sports have recently claimed that the 22-year-old is a target for both Spurs and Manchester United this summer, after an excellent loan spell at Leicester City under Brendan Rodgers.
In 13 Premier League appearances, the AS Monaco midfielder had a hand in eight goals – scoring three himself and creating five more. Tielemans even scored in a 3-0 win over Arsenal.
Asked by Sky Sports about Tottenham and Manchester United’s interest, the midfielder reacted by stating that he is flattered to be linked with a move to both clubs. He has a contract at Monaco until the summer of 2022.
“Yes [I am flattered by Man Utd and Spurs interest], they are really big teams in England and in Europe. To hear those names gives me confidence. I just try to play my game on the pitch and try my best,” Tielemans said.
The Sun have claimed that Tielemans is worth a whopping £40million following his spell at Leicester, which would make him Spurs’ second most-expensive signing in their history – behind Davinson Sanchez.
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Tielemans’ comments of being flattered with a move to Tottenham, and many have now urged their club to sign him this summer.
Now that seems somewhat concrete.

I'd really like him in our midfield. If we wont get one of Ndombele and Lo Celso, we should go for this guy

Coys I've been saying this for a while, he could replace Erikson. I love him he's amazing and I want to see him as a lillywhite. Hopefully he'll be a yid soon.https://t.co/d5lEbZyp57

If we sell Eriksen, Tielemans is the perfect replacement in my opinion. 22 years old with bags of potential #THFC
