Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 32 and supporters have responded on Twitter.
The Antwerp-born maestro served his country 82 times and also featured as a youngster for several of the development ranks.
Dembele is currently plying his trade in China with Guangzhou, having made 243 Premier League appearances during his career.

He was a firm fan favourite during his time with Tottenham and played 249 times for the club in all competitions.
Prior to his £11 million switch to China, he was a driving force in Mauricio Pochettino’s team and some supporters don’t feel he has been replaced.
The Belgian helped his country to a third-place finish at the World Cup in 2018, playing in four matches at the tournament.
His final act for Belgium was a 10-minute cameo in a 3-0 Nations League win over Iceland back in September.
Dembele clearly still has a place in the hearts of supporters in North London, despite his departure in January 2019.

Following news of his international retirement, several Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate their former player.
