Tottenham fans rave over Hugo Lloris’ performance against Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur secured their first Premier League clean sheet of the season on Monday night in their sixth outing, as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Burnley 1-0 away from home – and Spurs fans have applauded Hugo Lloris.

Spurs came into the match in good form with a free-flowing attack that boasts both Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, who remain in the form of their lives. But at the back, it is a different story for Mourinho’s men.

Three late goals conceded to West Ham was the latest in five Premier League matches this season without earning a clean sheet. They had conceded eight goals in those matches, but Spurs did stop LASK on Thursday.

Spurs struggled to get out of second gear throughout the match, with Burnley making it incredibly difficult for the north Londoners. However, they finally made the breakthrough thanks to Son from a corner.

Kane turned provider once again, flicking a corner onto the head of the South Korea captain’s head. Although it was far from the prettiest, captain Lloris kept a clean sheet and made some important catches from crosses.

The France skipper marshalled his box well and Spurs fans took to Twitter after the clean sheet was secured to applaud the former Lyon man, who clocked up his 333rd appearance in all competitions since his £13million (Guardian) move in 2012.
