Tottenham fans rave about Japhet Tanganga's display as Spurs beat MK Dons
Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a 3-1 away win over MK Dons on Wednesday night away from home, thanks to goals from Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli. Having already faced Leyton Orient and Colchester, Spurs took on Dele’s old team. Spurs fans raved about Japhet Tanganga.
With Tottenham cashing in on Toby Alderweireld this week and still yet to bring in a central defender – Nuno Espirito Santo continued to use Tanganga and Cameron Carter-Vickers. The £23,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender will be hoping to stake his claim while there are doubts in middle of the defence.
What have Tottenham fans said about Tanganga and his display?
Lucas was the star of the show. While it was Son that opened the scoring, it was Lucas’ beautiful reverse pass into his path that allowed the South Korea skipper to chip home the opener. The second came after Son was set free by Lucas again – with Son unselfishly passing into Dele to tap home a second.
A third came in the final moments of the match – and it was Lucas that got it, capitalising on a mistake. MK Dons did get a goal of their own, but it was comfortable for Spurs. Many Tottenham fans took to Twitter during and after the match and Tanganga gained plenty of praise for his efforts.
