Tottenham recorded a narrow 1-0 victory against Birmingham City in their latest pre-season game – and some of the club’s supporters were blown away by the impact of their attacker Steven Bergwijn.
Jose Mourinho’s side managed to secure a win courtesy of half-time substitute Bergwijn, who buried an 89th minute shot into the back of the net after lining it up from the edge of the box.
The 22-year-old winger injected a spark into the Spurs team that was missing in the opening 45 minutes and helped strengthen his case to try force his way into the starting XI for the opening day of the Premier League season against Everton.
Bergwijn joined midway through last season from PSV Eindhoven and made a decent start to his Spurs career, scoring three goals in his opening 16 games across all competitions.
But the Dutch speed machine is certainly capable of much more going forward and needs to try move ahead of Heung-Min Son or Lucas Moura in the pecking order, with the latter more likely.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media were thrilled with Bergwijn’s latest display and are convinced he’s got a huge individual season ahead of him.
