Tottenham Hotspur have gone top of the Premier League after beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0.
Jose Mourinho’s side struggled to find their way past a stubborn Albion defence at the Hawthorns, but had Harry Kane to thank for a late headed goal.
It was Slaven Bilic’s side who arguably shaded the first half, and Spurs struggled all afternoon to create meaningful chances in the Midlands.

Kane, Heung-min Son, and Gareth Bale all had quiet afternoons, but the former once again showed his quality when it mattered.
A win has taken Spurs to the summit, with Liverpool now needing to respond later against Manchester City later.
West Brom were somewhat unfortunate to lose the game, which could have gone either way before Kane struck. The Baggies will certainly take really heart from their performance.
Mourinho will likely have plenty to ponder over the international break, although he will obviously be elated to have won the game.
One man who had another good game for Spurs, was Sergio Reguilon.
The Spanish full-back continued his great start to life at Spurs following his summer move from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old – who cost a reported £27 million (Independent) – was very lively down the Tottenham left, and was trying to make things happen – having a couple of shots in the second half.
He was a bright spark for the visitors, and fans made sure to acknowledge his contributions on social media.
