Harry Winks played 45 minutes in Tottenham’s win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night to win the Audi Cup – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter hailed him for his performance.
Spurs managed to beat Bayern on penalties to win the pre-season trophy after the pair had drawn 2-2 in regular time.
Erik Lamela opened the scoring with a close-range finish after some excellent work from Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, while Christian Eriksen added a second with a brilliant finish.
Bayern sent the game to penalties with goals from Jann-Fiete Arp and Alphonso Davies, where Spurs goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga eventually saved from Jerome Boateng to win the Audi Cup.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side continued an impressive pre-season schedule and they have just one friendly left against Inter Milan.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media singled out Winks for a special mention following his classy first-half display.
The 23-year-old central midfielder filled in his usual role of spraying passes about the pitch and covering the defence.
He renewed his partnership with Moussa Sissoko in the centre of the park and the duo were excellent together last season, while new signing Tanguy Ndombele is another equation to throw into the mix.
