Tottenham were the big day spoilers for Newcastle yesterday as they rolled into St James’ Park and won 3-2 thanks to a brilliant first-half comeback.

Key players Son, Kane, and Ndombele all got themselves on the scoresheet as Spurs ruined the party in the northeast, following Newcastle’s takeover.

Things had got off to a brilliant start for Steve Bruce’s side when Callum Wilson gave them an early lead. However, Spurs had too much going forward as Ndombele, in particular, inspired them to victory.

But there were some other good performers as well for Tottenham in the form of returning defenders Emerson Royal and Cristian Romero.

And Romero was the one who drew attention from Tottenham fans on Twitter for his performance. The impressive Argentinian only returned from international duty in midweek and despite a shaky start, grew into the game well.

Romero is looking like a shrewd signing for Spurs and Nuno Santo will be delighted with what he’s getting out of his man thus far.
