Tottenham are reportedly interested in Norwich City defender Max Aarons – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are excited by the speculation.
The Daily Mail reports that Spurs want to focus on signing a new right-back in the January transfer window and currently have two options on their shortlist.
The report explains that they are looking at Norwich’s full-back Aarons, as well as upcoming talent Nathan Ferguson from West Brom.
Mauricio Pochettino has tried a host of options at right-back so far this campaign and nobody has stepped up to take the reigns from Kieran Trippier following his exit to Atletico Madrid in the summer.
Juan Foyth, Kyle Walker-Peters, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier don’t seem cut out to cement a position in the XI.
Aarons is enjoying a debut season in the Premier League this year with Norwich and is adjusting to the top-flight.
The 19-year-old is full of pace and energy when bombing forward, something that fits the style of profile Pochettino is searching for.
But his defensive game needs improving and he’s struggled at times in a weak backline at Carrow Road this campaign.

A selection of Spurs on social media have seen speculation surrounding Aarons and feel that he could be a strong addition to their squad.
He’s impressed with England up to the Under-21s age group and is the type of promising player that Pochettino could massively help.
