Tottenham fans pleased to have avoided Marco Asensio signing
Tottenham fans are delighted not to have signed Asensio.
The 25-year-old Real Madrid man was linked with a move to Tottenham over the summer but nothing came of it.
Marca have reported that Spurs wanted the player and were willing to make him their ‘star signing’ of the summer.
However, nothing came of it and the fans are delighted that he didn’t join.
Could Centre-Forwards Become Extinct?
Many fans are looking at this failed transfer as a bullet dodged.
Asensio has failed to make his mark at Real Madrid this season, falling down the pecking order at the club.
At Spurs, however, he likely would have had his fair share of game time.
Whilst the fans are pleased he didn’t join, any player bringing creativity is better than none.
The Spaniard may not be anyone’s first choice but at least he would have been a choice.
Nuno’s Tottenham are massively lacking in creative options and will need to improve going forward.
Tottenham fans are delighted not to have signed Asensio
It’s hard to imagine a way in which Asensio wouldn’t improve them in that sense.
Yet here we are, the fans don’t want the Spaniard and the player rejected the club.
Hopefully the supporters will be less picky when the club next move for a creative player.
It’s unfair on Kane to rely upon him to be both Spurs’ primary creator and finisher.
It looks like he has to fill both those roles under Nuno, obviously with some help from Heung-Min Son.
The January window will come around fast, though, and the chance to add creative options will be there.
The club may go back for Asensio, although it likely won’t go down well with the fans.
What do the fans think?
