Heung-Min Son is reportedly close to signing a new deal with Tottenham – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are over the moon with the transfer speculation.
The attacker’s current deal with Spurs is due to expire in 2023, but a report claims he is “close” to committing his future to the north London club with a fresh contract.
According to the Daily Express, Son is on the verge of agreeing a new contract and is in the final stages of discussions about a two-year extension.
The report adds Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants to conclude the business quickly to try bring some positivity after the turbulence surrounding the club recently.
As well as being involved in the failed European Super League proposal, they’ve sacked manager Jose Mourinho, and lost in the Carabao Cup final 1-0 to Manchester City.
It’s been yet another season without a trophy for Spurs, who are still competing to try climb into the top four positions.
However, on the pitch at least, Son has been one of the bright sparks alongside teammate Harry Kane.
Son hit the 20-goal mark across all competitions in the previous league match, plus he set up 16 assists as well.
The South Korean attacker remains one of the most underrated players around.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media are convinced that Son committing his future to them is a massive step.
It’s unclear on who will be in charge at the club beyond interim boss Ryan Mason, but whoever it is will surely quickly pick out the attacker as one of the most influential figures in the squad.
