Tottenham will reportedly miss out on reported midfield target Bruno Fernandes this summer at Sporting Lisbon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are angry with the speculation.

Sky Sports reports that Spurs have cooled their interest in the 24-year-old and will refuse to be part of a bidding war that could see him cost up to £65million, with Manchester United credited with interest.

It is understood that the North London outfit have held talks with the representatives of the Portugal international, but their pursuit looks over.

Meanwhile, the Sun reports (21 June, page 56) that Spurs believe the attacking midfielder will end up at Old Trafford.

Fernadnes has been ripping it up with Sporting in the Liga Nos, where he’s turned into a serious goalscorer from midfield.

He netted 32 times and managed 18 assists too last season across 53 matches across all competitions last season.

The Portugal international also helped his country win the Nations League this summer and he continues to go from strength to strength.
