Tottenham fans not impressed with Victor Wanyama after display against Arsenal

Victor Wanyama got his first Premier League start since November in the draw against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon – and many Tottenham fans were not impressed by his performance.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by their North London rivals at temporary home Wembley, but did come from behind in the match.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side remain third in the table, but Manchester United could move fourth and just three points behind them if they win their game in hand later on Saturday against Southampton.

Aaron Ramsey put the visitors in front after 16 minutes, as he capitalised on an error on the halfway line and he went round the goalkeeper to score.

Harry Kane then replied with a penalty in the second-half to draw Spurs level, but the drama took place in the closing stages of the game.

Hugo Lloris saved a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penalty earn Spurs a point, while Lucas Torreira was also shown a red card in the 95th minute for a tackle on Danny Rose.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media discussed Wanyama’s performance after the contest and believe he struggled.

The 27-year-old started in the centre and showed some signs of rustiness, which did result in him being substituted off after 59 minutes.

He’s been a fringe player for most of the campaign while having his bad luck with injuries and he looks unlikely to break back into the permanent XI.
