It was a special evening for Yang Min-Hyeok as the Tottenham Hotspur loanee netted his first goal for Portsmouth since making the switch.
The 19-year-old hasn’t had the easiest time on the South Coast, with the winger struggling to earn his place in the team at Fratton Park.
But against Watford, the South Korean international may have finally had his breakout moment in English football, with a brilliant goal and solid performance.
Yang is believed to have ‘crazy’ potential, and the North London club will now be hoping that his first goal for Pompey will change his fortunes.

Tottenham fans hail Yang Min-Hyeok after first Portsmouth goal
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been full of praise for Yang Min-Hyeok after he netted his first goal for Portsmouth, and what a goal it was as well.
The teenager caught the ball sumptuously on the half volley on the edge of the penalty area and picked out the far corner.
You could tell from his reaction and that of the supporters what the goal meant to everyone in the stadium at Fratton Park.
Portsmouth fans have questioned Yang’s physicality, but he finally seems to be finding his feet in the Championship, and the goal should do him the world of good.
John Mousinho’s team ended up drawing 2-2 with Watford at home, with the point leaving them 17th in the table.
After watching the Tottenham loanee score his first goal of the season, Spurs fans took to X to hail the attacker.
One fan said: “Yang Min-Hyeok’s one of those players you just look at and think, yeah, he’s got it. You can see the talent every time he gets on the ball. He’s finally getting proper minutes at Portsmouth now, and it’s starting to show.”
“Brilliant strike as well. Some of our fans were writing this kid off after just five games,” added another fan.
There was further praise for the winger: “Just recall him back. Can’t be worse than Odobert… surely?”
Meanwhile, one Portsmouth fan added: “Best player so far on the pitch, great link-up play.”
Tottenham would love for Yang to come back to North London in the summer, having seriously improved, as Spurs are still on the hunt for a new left winger.
Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel are all struggling at Tottenham
Tottenham’s left wing options aren’t looking great right now, as Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel are all struggling to find form.
Despite scoring 18 goals last term, Johnson hasn’t really found his feet in Thomas Frank’s system and looks really ineffective out wide.
Odobert and Tel are two clearly talented wingers; however, the pair have both struggled to make any sort of impact at Spurs.
The Lilywhites will need both players to improve; otherwise, loan moves away should be considered during the January window.
