Tottenham fans lay into Dele Alli after his performance against West Ham

Tottenham suffered their first defeat in their new stadium against West Ham on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter ripped into Dele Alli for his performance.

Spurs were beaten 1-0 at home by their London rivals, as attacker Michail Antonio scored the winning goal in the second-half.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side named a strong line-up despite the looming Champions League semi-final with Ajax on Tuesday and were still unable to claim any points.

The North London club stay third in the Premier League table, but their top four spot is still not secure with just two games remaining.

Spurs had won their first four games since the move to a new stadium without conceding, but Englishman Antonio became the first away player to score on the ground.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media picked out Alli for criticism following his display, as they felt he was far too slow in possession and offered little attacking threat.

The England international has seen his season disrupted by injuries and hasn’t quite been at his best.

He’s made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and supplying six assists in return.
