Tottenham Hotspur supporters have lavished praise on striker Harry Kane after a brilliant performance against Southampton.

The England captain stood up to be counted for against the Saints after a difficult week for the club, which saw them dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United.

Kane struck his fifth Premier League goal of the campaign, taking his tally to 13 for the season for club and country.

After admitting the squad was unsettled, the 25-year-old really led from the front against the Saints.

The star put in a huge shift up top and was a threat all afternoon for Spurs.

With Serge Aurier picking up a red card after half an hour, things could have gone pear-shaped for the visitors but Kane stepped up to the mark with his goal to re-establish the lead in the game.

It was a performance that got a lot of Spurs fans saying the same thing on social media after the match.
