Tottenham fans in awe over Pape Matar Sarr's PSG display
Tottenham fans are getting excited over Pape Matar Sarr.
The Senegalese sensation is a serious talent.
At just 19-years-old he’s already showing what he can do in one of Europe’s top five leagues for Metz in Ligue 1.
The Lilywhites signed the teenager over the summer before loaning him straight back to Metz (Sky Sports).
Given Spurs’ midfield struggles early in the season, many fans would love to have Sarr at the club now.
On Wednesday evening he took on Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG and was assured and mature in his display.
Metz eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat with 10-men, but not for the want of trying from Sarr.
The teenager started in the centre of the three in Metz 4-2-3-1 formation and did a good job.
He completed an incredible 12 recoveries on the night, won 4 of his 7 duels and ran the midfield for Metz, taking 54 touches on the night (FotMob).
His box-to-box abilities made him a man in demand over the summer, when Spurs pounced to sign him.

Sarr has got an abundance of talent.
Not only is he an adept ball-winner and defender in his own half but he can pick a pass, shoot with accuracy and deliver set-pieces.
At the tender age of just 19 he’s already become an established midfielder in Ligue 1 and for his national team.
For Metz this season he’s started every single game and has only missed seven minutes of league action so far (Transfermarkt).
The Lilywhites have a serious talent on their hands.
Many of the fans know this and are just desperate for him to debut.
Unfortunately, it won’t come until next season when his loan at Metz is over.
The good thing about him spending an extra year in France is that he’ll get a lot more game time for Metz than he would for Tottenham.

Watched a bit of the game after Spurs game. Agree this kid looked superb. Athletic and mature beyond his years. He’d actually be a huge asset for spurs now this season— Paul Hanley (@phanley55) September 23, 2021
