The advantage didn’t last long, however, with Malachi Fagan-Walcott restoring parity for the home side.

Brighton weren’t to be denied victory, however, and just two minutes after the break Warren O’Hora netted what would prove to be a winning goal.

It was the performance of goalscoring centre-back Fagan-Walcott which caught the eye among Tottenham supporters.

The 17-year-old scored a thumping header from a set-piece to level the contest and his performance, on the whole, was solid.

Despite his tender years, the youngster looks to have the attributes to go a long way in football and Tottenham will hope his progression continues.
