George Marsh made his senior debut for Tottenham on Friday night in the FA Cup third round – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were impressed by his cameo appearance.

Spurs cruised to a 7-0 away victory against League Two Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park and there were plenty of rotations within the squad by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Premier League giants were just a goal ahead at half-time thanks to Serge Aurier, but pulled away in the second period with a dominant display in front of goal.

Aurier added another in the second-half, while Fernando Llorente, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane also got on the scoresheet.

With Spurs in cruise control in the second-half, Pochettino decided to hand academy graduate Marsh his first-team debut off the bench.

The 20-year-old midfielder entered the action in the 65th minute and looked tidy in possession, while he will hope it’s the first of many.

There were as many as five academy graduates on the pitch at the end of the game and it is a testament to Pochettino’s work with youngsters.

Here are some of the Spurs fans on Twitter that were impressed by the mature display of Marsh:
