Erik Lamela played the first-half in the pre-season win over Real Madrid on Tuesday evening – and some Tottenham supporters on Twitter picked him out for his dazzling perfjoamcne.

Spurs progressed to the final of the Audi Cup with a 1-0 win against Spanish giants Madrid.

Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game in the first period, as he pounced on a loose ball and calmly finishing past the goalkeeper.

Mauricio Pochettino rotated heavily during the game, but Lamela caught the eye during his 45 minutes on the pitch.

The attacker played in a more central role behind Kane and showed plenty of quality moments in possession, including one mazy dribble past several defenders that started inside his own half.

He was also influential with some key passes to teammates in the final third and looked at his creative best.

The 27-year-old Argentine has seen his spell with Spurs often disrupted by injuries and inconsistent form, but looked extremely bright against Madrid.

Lamela scored just six times in 33 games across all competitions, but could surely better that in the new campaign if he recreates pre-season form.
