Tottenham fans hope Sissoko can recover quickly after limping out of weekend loss

Moussa Sissoko hobbled off in the first half of Tottenham’s 1-0 home defeat against Manchester United yesterday but Mauricio Pochettino cannot afford to be without him for too long.

Tottenham struggled to get to grips with Manchester United in the opening period of yesterday’s crunch clash at Wembley, but looked set to go in level at half time when Moussa Sissoko limped off in the closing stages of the first half.

But within two minutes of the Frenchman’s early departure, Kieran Trippier handed England team-mate Jesse Lingard an opportunity to build a counter attack, which Marcus Rashford finished after a sumptuous through pass by Paul Pogba.

An outstanding performance by David de Gea kept the hosts at bay and the misery created by that 1-o defeat was compounded by the injury blow suffered by Sissoko, who has developed into one of Tottenham’s most important players.

Tottenham are also suffering with a spate of midfield injuries, which has pushed Sissoko to centre stage alongside Harry Winks and will be sorely missed.

It remains to be seen how long he is ruled out for but Spurs fans clearly hope that he will be back on the pitch as soon as possible to help them get back on track with the games now coming thick and fast.
