Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning to keep youngster Jack Clarke around the first-team squad this season – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are thrilled with the speculation.

According to Football London, the Spurs boss plans to keep the 19-year-old at the club despite the fact the domestic window is still open and wants him to be mentored by some of the senior attackers.

It is claimed that the North London club have knocked back loan offers already in the summer window from Championship teams, as the teenager has “impressed” Mourinho.

The report adds that he was due to play in the first-team fixture against Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup before it was cancelled.

Clarke, who was signed from Leeds United last summer, had a difficult time last season during a year out on loan and struggled for game-time in the Championship.

But it looks like the English attacker is going to be kept by Spurs this campaign, as they hope he can learn from the likes of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale.

Clarke is a skilful right-winger that arrived from Leeds as a highly-rated talent and it’s a great sign for him that Mourinho has mapped out a plan for his immediate future.
