Tottenham’s youth team beat Manchester City in a Premier League 2 fixture on Friday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were impressed by the performance of Troy Parrott.
Spurs’ Under-23s side beat Manchester City 3-1 at home and the senior teams clash on Saturday evening at the Etihad Stadium.
Parrott scored two goals for Spurs and the first was a stunning left-footed finish into the top corner, before he also managed to net calmly from the penalty spot.
The 17-year-old was called up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad on Friday and celebrated with a brace at club level.
He impressed with the first-team during pre-season and will surely be in the thoughts of senior boss Mauricio Pochettino.
With Fernando Llorente exiting this summer, there is a lack of genuine options in reserve to talisman striker Harry Kane.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media were delighted with the latest display of Parrott and are convinced that a first-team call-up is just around the corner.
The centre-forward is continuing to build up his reputation at youth level and needs to try seize any opportunity if a first-team chance comes around in the cup.
