Tanguy Ndombele made his competitive Tottenham debut in the win against Aston Villa on Saturday evening – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter praised him for his performance.
Spurs kicked off their Premier League season with a 3-1 home victory against newly-promoted Villa, but had to come from behind and break down a resilient defence.
Midfielder John McGinn gave the visitors an early lead after nine minutes when he broke clear of the defence and slotted into the corner with his left foot.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side eventually got through the Villa barricade in the 73rd minute when Ndombele fired in an equaliser.
The 22-year-old introduced himself to supporters with a finish from outside of the box that he calmly slotted into the corner.
Harry Kane then went on to net a quick-fire double in the closing stages to give the North London club three points.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media discussed new signing Ndombele and were delighted with his contribution.
He cost the club £53.8million (BBC) this summer from Lyon and he’s already started repaying that with a crucial equaliser.
The box-to-box midfielder showed real attacking intent in possession with dribbles and passes, but it wasn’t quite happening for him before his late goal.
His strike should give him a big boost and he should only improve.
