Tottenham’s Under-18s side demolished London rivals Chelsea on Saturday in a youth team fixture – and some excited fans on Twitter were left discussing rising star Roshaun Mathurin.
Spurs beat Chelsea’s Under-18s team 6-1 in a league fixture at Cobham.
Mathurin was the standout individual with his hat-trick, plus there were also Spurs goals from Dane Scarlett (two) and Dermi Lusala.
Mathurin’s first goal was a stunning free-kick from distance that he powered into the top corner.
The 17-year-old’s third goal was special too, as he showed great composure to lift the ball over a defender in the box and fire in a close-range finish.
He is a London-born winger that has been impressed with the Under-18s this campaign and was one of several players to catch the eye against Chelsea with his match-winning contribution.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media were amazed by the display from Mathurin.
Senior boss Jose Mourinho has shown he’s prepared to promote young talents if they are good enough, so the attacker is someone to keep an eye out on.
He’s yet to make a senior debut, but can take great heart from the fact other youth teammates have already.
