Tottenham’s Under-23s side dismantled Liverpool on Friday afternoon in a Premier League 2 fixture – and some of the club’s supporters hailed captain Jamie Bowden.
Spurs recorded a commanding 4-0 victory at Hotspur Way, with senior boss Jose Mourinho watching the club’s youngsters from the sidelines.
Rodel Richards put the North London club in front after 20 minutes and the they went into half-time with a one-goal lead.
Bowden scored two quick-fire penalties, as well as a stoppage time header in the second-half to complete a brilliant hat-trick.
The 18-year-old midfielder captained Spurs to an impressive win and he surely caught the eye of Mourinho from the stands.
He is a central midfielder that showed his eye for goal against Liverpool, but usually plays in a deep-lying role where he dictates possession and breaks up play.
A selection of Spurs supporters on social media were going wild about Bowden’s latest contribution for the Under-23s and view him as a future senior star in the making.
He is yet to make his first-team appearance, but the academy star appears to be doing all the right things and should look to emulate the path of Harry Winks.
Here are some Spurs fans on Bowden:
