Tottenham fans hail Danny Rose despite defeat to West Ham
Danny Rose played in a more advanced role for Tottenham in their defeat to West Ham – and some of the club’s supporters were pleased by his performance.
Spurs saw their 100 per cent winning start in their new stadium come crushing to an end, as London rivals West Ham secured a 1-0 victory in the Premier League.
Michail Antonio scored the only goal of the game in the second-half and it means Mauricio Pochettino’s side still have work to do in their pursuit of a top four finish.
Spurs were nowhere near their fluent best on Saturday afternoon and failed to create too many clear goalscoring opportunities.
They will have to bounce back quickly, as they face Ajax in the first leg of a Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

A selection of Spurs fans picked out Rose for praise following his display and he was substituted off in the 77th minute to allow Vincent Janssen add more attacking presence.
Rose played in a midfield role in front of left-back Ben Davies and tried his best to create going forward.
The 28-year-old wasn’t quite able to have his usual impact and is perhaps more effective overlapping from his full-back position.
But some were impressed by his overall work-rate for the hosts and he looked one of the more likely outlets on a frustrating afternoon for them.
Here are some of the Spurs fans praising Rose for his latest contribution:
