Dele Alli has perhaps not had his most eye-catching season for Tottenham, which has led to criticism in some quarters (Football.London) over his quality.
Just as he was hailed as a hugely exciting English talent when he first broke onto the scene, he has now suffered from the effects of being in that limelight at times this term.
For England as well, he hasn’t been quite on top of his game on the face of it but he has become a more diligent player – as well as having to plug the gaps wherever needed in a side beset with injuries.
The Tottenham fans certainly do not appear to have lost faith in the man Spotrac claim earns £100,000 a week, and took to Twitter to praise him after the final day of the Premier League season yesterday.

Alli and Spurs signed off the domestic campaign with a 2-2 draw against Everton to seal fourth place and a place in next season’s Champions League.
And Alli’s season is of course not over yet because he has a key role to play in the final of that same competition on June 1, when Spurs fans will be hoping he can repeat the form he showed in setting up two goals for Lucas Moura against Ajax on Wednesday…
