Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen made his first appearance for the club in almost two years on Tuesday.
Mauricio Pochettino included the Dutchman amongst his substitutes against Brighton and called upon the 24-year-old in the second half as Spurs struggled to break the Seagulls down.

Even though he was on the bench, it was still somewhat surprising to see Janssen actually brought on given his struggles.
Janssen was unable to contribute a goal for the team, but did try noticeably hard to make an impression.
It has been a tough time for the striker, who struggled to adapt to the Premier League following his £17 million move from AZ Alkmaar (ITV).
On Wednesday, Janssen, who went out on loan to Fenerbahce last term, took to social media to thank fans for their support. He said: “So happy to be back, thanks to all the fans for the amazing support! #nevergiveup #coys”
It remains to be seen if Janssen will be given further chances by Pochettino, although the fact that the team are in the Champions League semi-finals may suggest he could be called upon to cover in the league, especially with Harry Kane out of the picture.

Tottenham fans react
A lot of Spurs fans wrote messages of encouragement to Janssen, with one or two even imploring him to take heart from Moussa Sissoko’s superb renaissance after experiencing similar hardships:
