Liverpool came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday afternoon after taking the lead through Harry Kane’s opener – and Spurs fans have battered Danny Rose on Twitter.
Rose, 29, was left out of the Spurs squad on Tuesday night completely as Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat Red Star Belgrade 5-0. Given that he wanted to leave in the summer – and almost joined Watford – it was a surprise to see him recalled.
Indeed, Rose was recalled as was Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen by Pochettino, while Jan Vertonghen was taken out of the starting line-up. Erik Lamela and Ben Davies also made way.

Kane scored his 10th goal of the season after just 47 seconds. Son’s effort from 25 yards was deflected onto the post by Fabinho, before ricocheting into the path of Kane who expertly headed into the corner past Alisson.
However, Liverpool dominated the match from that moment on and even though Son hit the bar early in the second half, The Reds could have scored more than five. Paulo Gazzaniga came to the resue for Spurs on numerous occasions.
Liverpool’s equaliser came through Reds skipper Henderson, after Rose misjudged a cross allowing the ex-Sunderland man to lash home an effort with his left foot. Serge Aurier then conceded a penalty, which was scored by Mo Salah.
Tottenham fans have hammered their left-back Rose on Twitter, with many seemingly fed up of the ex-Leeds United academy star.
