Troy Parrott is not included in Tottenham’s Under-23s squad for their game on Friday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters are questioning whether it means he will be in the senior squad this weekend.
Spurs’ youth team face Southampton on Friday and there are a couple of noticeable absences from the line-up (official Twitter).
Parrott has been a mainstay in the team so far this campaign, but he’s not in the 16-man match day squad.
The 17-year-old is a highly-rated centre-forward that has been making a name for himself in the academy and many feel he is a future first teamer.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old defender Japhet Tanganga is another glaring omission from the squad against Southampton.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side host Crystal Palace on Saturday in the Premier League, so will he spring a surprise by naming some of the club’s rising stars?
A selection of Spurs fans are now curious about Parrott’s chances of being involved in the first-team this weekend, while also considering Tanganga.
Parrott is yet to make his senior debut, but Pochettino has previously explained he will be around the main group at times this season.
The striker was busy during the international break with Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s side and he did manage to score a winner against Armenia.
Here are some Spurs fans responding to the club’s Under-23s line-up announcement:
Does that mean that Troy Parrott will be in the first team squad?
