Tottenham recovered well from a torrid first half to regain control of their match against Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday, after a torrid first half.
The home side showed all the energy you might expect from a side fighting for their lives, while Tottenham’s injury-ravaged squad looked tired during the opening 45 minutes.
It felt like Fulham needed to take in more than a one-goal advantage at the break, and so it eventually proved in the second half when Harry Winks’ stoppage-time winner secured all three points after Dele Alli’s equaliser.

The second half turned into something of a battle for the Spurs’ backline as Aleksandar Mitrovic tried to ease the pressure on his side’s creaking backline by picking fights whenever the ball went forward.
But alongside his fellow defenders, Toby Alderweireld dealt with it well, and the Belgian also made a vital forward run which created the space for Winks to nod home his dramatic winner.
For a player whose future at the club is still unclear, Alderweireld is playing very well indeed and the supporters were keen to encourage him to remain in north London beyond the end of his current deal, on the back of another strong display…
