Tottenham fans ecstatic with Jan Vertonghen comments
Defender Jan Vertonghen has made it clear he’s happy being with Tottenham – and some of the club’s supporters are thrilled with his comments.
The Belgian centre-back is entering the final year of his contract with Spurs, but has stated his mind is not elsewhere and he loves being in North London.
He made 34 appearances across all competitions last season and helped the team finish as runners-up in the Champions League, losing to Premier League rivals Liverpool in the final.
Vertonghen has ben discussion his current position at Spurs and credited manager Mauricio Pochettino for his influence.
“I have got everything I want here. For me, it’s the best club to play for at the moment, definitely,” Vertonghen told Sky Sports.
“I love being here, my family loves it, I love it. I feel great with the fans, great with the manager. He’s been supporting me and making me a better player over the last five or six years.”

Vertonghen should continue to play a key role for Spurs ahead of the new campaign and is a real leader in the backline.
The left-footed centre-back is a brilliant example for rising stars Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez, while he’s still a beast one-on-one in the Premier League.
He’s made it clear that he’s loving his time under Pochettino and the club need to capitalise by tying him down to a new deal, something which a selection of Spurs supporters on social media have suggested.
Here are some Spurs fans replying to the Vertonghen comments:
