Tottenham fans dumbfounded by Jose Mourinho decision on Harry Winks

Tottenham were beaten 5-4 by Everton last night in a pulsating FA Cup tie and afterwards, supporters were left baffled by Jose Mourinho’s decision to throw Harry Winks into the action.

The England man was substituted on during extra-time and plenty of supporters feel that Spurs lost their spark following his introduction.

Winks is proving something of a forgotten man at Tottenham, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele pulling the strings in midfield.

The 25-year-old has started just six Premier League matches this season and isn’t in favour under Mourinho.

Last night he was introduced at 4-4 and despite having the momentum from an equaliser, it somehow handed the initiative back to Everton.

Bernard’s goal sent the Toffees into the quarter-final of the competition and left Tottenham wondering what might have been.

The conundrum over Winks is proving to be a big one and the summer looks like being the time for a decision to be made.

The maestro has played 163 times for Spurs having come through the academy ranks at the club.
