Tottenham are reportedly interested in Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey – and there has been a mixed response on Twitter from the club’s supporters about the speculation.

The Daily Express claims that manager Jose Mourinho is lining up a swoop for the centre-back when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.

It is understood that Spurs are joined by Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon in monitoring the 22-year-old.

The report adds that he’s currently valued at £50million by Norwich, while Spurs are also looking at his £30million-rated teammate Max Aarons as they eye improvements at the back for next season.

Norwich currently sit bottom of the Premier League table following their return to the top-flight, but have a number of impressive young players at Carrow Road and they have played some eye-catching football this season.

Godfrey is one of the rising talents on the books at Norwich and he helped them earn promotion from the Championship last year.

The ball-playing centre-back is now enjoying his first taste of Premier League action and has looked a composed figure at the back in possession, as well as being a physical presence too.

He has represented England’s Under-21s side on the international stage and could have a big future if he keeps improving.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media believe that Godfrey is a potential star in the making they should definitely pursue in the summer, while others would rather forget about the £50million-rated defender.
