Fulham ace Ryan Sessegnon started for England’s Under-21s side on Tuesday night – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter were divided over the performance of their reported target.

The 19-year-old played in a 2-1 defeat against France in the Under-21s European Championships.

Manchester City’s Phil Foden scored the opening goal with a brilliant individual move, but France earned three points with two late goals.

Sessegnon started for the Young Lions on the wing in an attacking position, but he also has the versatility to play at left-back.

He suffered relegation from the Premier League with Fulham last season, but is a highly-rated talent tipped for a bright future.

According to the Sun, Spurs are interested in Sessegnon this summer and are considering him to be a replacement for Danny Rose.

The report details that he would cost around £35million to prize away from Craven Cottage.

A selection of Spurs fans watched their target in action before he was substituted off in the second-half and there were mixed reviews.

The left-footed teenager showed some glimpses of quality going forward for England, but was lacking end product and it’s still unclear on where his best position is.
