Tottenham fans discuss reports linking Antonio Conte to the club

Di Marzio claim that Antonio Conte is ready to accept an offer from Tottenham. Spurs sacked Nuno Espirito Santo earlier today and supporters are desperate to see the Italian appointed.

Espirito Santo has been sacked after just 17 competitive games in charge. He leaves along with his entire backroom staff after just four months in charge.

Now, Tottenham are preparing to go back in for Conte. It is claimed that he’s already been sounded out by the club and as a result, a deal could be in place very soon.

Spurs were thumped 3-0 at home by Manchester United on Saturday. Supporters turned on Espirito Santo with boos ringing around the stadium at full-time.

Conte looks set to take over the job and he’d be a popular appointment. He has been linked with every sizeable job to come up since leaving Inter at the end of last season.

He helped the club claim the Serie A title but departed the San Siro after his contract expired.

Conte left Inter with a win ratio of 62% and he’s largely done brilliantly well wherever he has been. At Chelsea, he also won a league title and had a win ratio in excess of 60%.

What have Tottenham fans said about Conte?

It’s fair to say the fan base are desperate to see Conte arrive at Tottenham. He is clearly the first choice among supporters and he’d certainly ruffle some feathers.

Tottenham have settled for second best for far too long and Conte would see a born-winner appointed into a major role at the football club.

Whether he can transform the team’s fortunes this season remains to be seen but after a summer transfer window, Tottenham could really go well.
