Tottenham fans discuss Jack Clarke situation after helping Leeds win on Saturday
Jack Clarke finally clocked up his first Championship appearance of the 2019-20 campaign as the Tottenham Hotspur loanee came on in the 71st minute of Leeds United’s 2-1 win over Luton Town – and Spurs fans have discussed the winger on Twitter.
Clarke, who turned 19 on Saturday, came on during the last third of the match as Leeds earned a late 2-1 win over newly-promoted Luton. It was just his third appearance of the season, and the first in the Championship.
It is a stark difference to last season. Clarke clocked up 25 appearances during 2018-19 after breaking into the side, scoring goals against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest – as well as laying on crucial assists against Swansea and Sheffield United.

Patrick Bamford scored a brace, the second coming in injury time to keep Leeds ticking with a third consecutive win. Tottenham’s £11.5million (Guardian) summer signing made an impact, but did not have a lasting effect on the game.
Clarke has suffered with the Football League’s loan rule. Leeds have six players on loan, but can only name five in their 18-man matchday squad – and that has seen Clarke miss seven of Leeds’ 18 games. He has been sat on the bench during the rest.
Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Clarke had been used as a substitute, just days after Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham Hotspur manager. It was a very varied reaction from Spurs supporters.
