Tottenham fans discuss Emi Buendia’s performance for Norwich City

Oliver Skipp’s Norwich City took a giant stride towards securing an instant return to the Premier League with a brilliant 7-0 win over Huddersfield Town – but Tottenham fans were impressed with another Canaries star.

Skipp, 20, has started all but one of Norwich’s 40 Championship games as they sit eight points clear of second, and 17 clear of third with six games to play – having smashed Carlos Corberan’s Town on Tuesday night at Carrow Road.

But it was 24-year-old Buendia that seemingly caught the eye of onlooking Spurs fans. The Argentina ace has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since Norwich were relegated last season, Arsenal strongly linked.

But he has remained at Norwich and he could do so for another summer, with Norwich set to return to the top flight of English football – a second promotion in three seasons. On Tuesday night, he was incredible for the Canaries.

Not only did he score his 12th goal of the season, but the Argentina Under-20 international also laid on three assists for Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell all to find the back of the net as Norwich proved title credentials.

Buendia was at the centre of everything. Linking play, cutting inside and looking a threat all night – his goal was magnificent. Cutting in from the flank, he found himself in the middle of the goal – lashing a 20-yard effort home.

A brilliant display that got many talking on social media. He has now been involved in 28 Championship goals during his 33 league appearances – a stunning tally that is only going to generate more interest in his services.

While Arsenal are being heavily linked – with Eurosport stating that the Gunners will revisit a move in the summer for the £40million-rated (Goal) playmaker – Spurs could also be tempted to take a look at the magician.

Spurs lack a number 10 with the flair of Buendia. Gio Lo Celso simply cannot stay fit long enough to develop enough momentum to supply Tottenham with his best form, while Lucas Moura continues to blow hot and cold.

The Brazilian was sensational against Aston Villa before the international break, but was a passenger against Newcastle on Sunday. Erik Lamela is capable of magic, but no way near as often as needed.

Dele Alli is likely to be on his way this summer, while Tanguy Ndombele is being deployed deeper in midfield. While Tottenham have numerous options in the 10 role, they do not have one with the flair and form of Buendia.

Tottenham fans reacted to Buendia’s Tuesday display alongside Skipp, and many think that their club should rival Arsenal for the South American sensation in the coming months – as they look to finally break back into the top four.
