Tottenham Hotspur finally came from behind to beat Championship strugglers Wycombe Wanderers 4-1 on Monday night in the fourth round of The FA Cup – and Spurs fans have applauded the performance of Ben Davies.
Spurs were tasked with continuing to fight on all four fronts, as they took on Wycombe away from home – with a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup away at Everton at stake. Wycombe took the lead, ripping up the script.
Fred Onyedinma opened the scoring, slamming the ball home after Davinson Sanchez failed to stop a low cross. But Spurs equalised before the half-time whistle, as Gareth Bale flicked home Lucas Moura’s low right-footed cross.

Spurs failed to find the breakthrough in the second half, though – and it forced Jose Mourinho to turn to his attacking talents on the bench. On came Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele.
It was the latter that proved the difference. He scored two brilliant goals while Harry Winks also got his name on the score sheet with a left-footed curling effort – his first ever goal in the FA Cup. Davies captained Spurs.
He was forced off, limping, in the dying moments but the £10million (Telegraph) star impressed once again. It was his 216th game for Spurs, and many supporters of the North London club applauded his efforts.
