Tottenham Hotspur have become the laughing stock of English football on social media after they suffered an appalling defeat to League Two side Colchester United in the Carabao Cup – and Spurs fans are disappointed with Kyle Walker-Peters.
Walker-Peters, 22, was one of 10 changes made by Mauricio Pochettino to face Colchester, with the north Londoners expected to cruise into the fourth round of the competition. Colchester were the lowest ranked side in the third round.
However, the League Two side made it difficult for Spurs. The out-of-form Champions League finalists failed to play with any kind of rhythm or flair, and lacked the speed required to break down a defence. The game finished 0-0.

With Colchester goalkeeper Dean Gerken relatively untested, he was tasked stopping five Tottenham penalties and he produced a stunning save to deny Christian Eriksen. Lucas Moura hit the bar, allowing Colchester to win 4-3 in the shootout.
Walker-Peters made his fourth appearance of the season on the right side of defence, coming in for Serge Aurier. But the England Under-21 international struggled, and could not produce the kind of crossing Spurs fans expect.
Many Tottenham fans reacted their academy product’s display against Colchester, with many frustrated by the defender and some even went as far as saying he is not good enough for Pochettino’s squad.
