Tottenham fans demand Jose Mourinho reinstates Toby Alderweireld after Liverpool loss

Tottenham were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool and afterwards, fans called for Jose Mourinho to swallow his pride over Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian defender hasn’t featured for three consecutive games now and it’s a decision which isn’t paying dividends.

Tottenham haven’t kept a clean sheet during those three fixtures, with Eric Dier and Joe Rodon featuring.

Last night, the England and Wales international players were given the runaround by Liverpool’s front three.

Liverpool went into the game woefully out of form but still romped to victory in North London.

After the game talk among fans turned towards Alderweireld and they are desperate to see the 31-year-old return.

The 104-cap international has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month.

It will be hoped that isn’t the case, with Tottenham struggled to keep clean sheets in his absence.

Alderweireld has played 218 times for Spurs and as an experienced member of the team, plenty believe he should be playing.

It doesn’t seem as though the £80,000-a-week player is in favour right now and he needs to convince Mourinho once again.
