Tottenham travel to reigning champions Manchester City on Saturday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are keen for Christian Eriksen to be recalled to the starting XI.

The 27-year-old playmaker was left on the bench in the opening day win over Aston Villa, but his entrance to the field helped win the three points.

His side were trailing 1-0 at home until his introduction in the second-half and hie helped inspire a 3-1 victory.

The Denmark international has a lot of speculation around regarding his future, as his current contract is due to expire with the North London club next summer.

According to the Independent, Spurs want talks with Eriksen about a new deal before the European transfer window closes this month.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side would rather sell him this summer than let him leave for free next season, with Atletico Madrid and Juventus potential suitors.
