Dele Alli has been left out of the England senior squad ahead of the international break – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter are delighted with the news.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has named a 25-man squad for upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.

Spurs playmaker Alli was not included in the previous England squad, as he was only just returning from injury at the time.

But the 23-year-old has been snubbed once again by Southgate and is going through a difficult period right now.

Alli hasn’t kicked a ball in the Premier League since the last international break and is struggling to force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

The attacking midfielder flopped in the Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester United on penalties, as well as featuring in the 2-2 draw away to Olympiacos and the 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

He looks miles off the standard he’s previously set and has paid the price by being dropped for England, with creative players like Leicester City’s James Maddison and Chelsea’s Mason Mount picked ahead of him.

A selection of Spurs fans are pleased to see Alli miss out of England duty and feels it could be a wake up call for him.
