Troy Parrott continued to grow his excellent reputation with a goal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-19 side in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday afternoon against Olympiacos – and fans have congratulated the Irish star.

Still only 17 years of age, Parrott is viewed as one of the best players to be plying his trade into Tottenham’s academy at the moment. So much so that he is was heavily involved during the pre-season tour of the US and Germany.

Already an Ireland Under-21 international where he has scored three goals in two appearances, Parrott hit the post against Real Madrid and even featured against Bayern Munich. He has started the campaign in sensational form.

Promoted to Tottenham’s second string, Parrott scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Manchester City’s Under-23 side in the club’s only Premier League 2 match of the season. He continued that form against Olympiacos.

Indeed, Parrott slid the ball home to give Spurs the lead in the UEFA Youth League clash – after a lovely first-time pass from Rodel Richards. However, Spurs could not hold on to the lead, as a mistake from Timothy Eyoma allowed George Fekkas to equalise.

Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Parrott had found the back of the net for a third time in his second appearance this season, and many are keen to see him make his senior debut sooner rather than later.
