Tottenham are reportedly set to give Gareth Bale his first start on Thursday night since returning to the club – and some of the Spurs fans on Twitter believe it’s a great decision.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will turn his attention to the midweek clash in the Europa League group stages against Austiran top-flight club LASK.

The report states that Bale is “expected” to be included in the starting XI by Mourinho.

Bale rejoined the North London club in the transfer window on a season-long loan from Real Madrid and he made his second debut for them at the weekend.

The Welshman was given a late cameo appearance from the bench, but during that time Spurs threw away a three-goal advantage to end up drawing 3-3 with London rivals Southampton.

He needs to build up his fitness after returning from a knee injury and sitting on the sidelines for much of last season, which is why the Europa League could be a great avenue for him to pick up some momentum and ensure he’s ready for the intensity of the Premier League.

The 31-year-old left-footer needs to get up to full speed before he’s ready to start league matches alongside dynamic in-form duo Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
