‘Yessssss’, ‘I’d cry’: Some Spurs fans want signing more shocking than ‘Ighalo to United’
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Peter Crouch’s Twitter page after the England cult hero responded to Jose Mourinho’s tongue-in-cheek call for him to bolster the Spurs attacking ranks.
Tottenham were rocked by the news that Son Heung-min will be going under the knife after sustaining a fracture to his right arm during Spurs’ victory over Aston Villa.
The South Korea international scored twice against the relegation battlers but is now set for the sidelines, with the Tottenham website estimating “a number of weeks” out.
However, Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho questioned the timescale issued by the club and doubts that the 27-year-old will be back this season, as reported by BBC Sport.

With Tottenham also missing Harry Kane through injury, the team is now severely hampered in attack – Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Troy Parrott are now the only fit forwards.
Spurs are in a similar predicament to Barcelona, who lost Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele to long-term injury this season.
The Blaugrana have been granted permission to sign an emergency striker, and at his pre-match press conference, Mourinho was asked if he was looking into a similar emergency loophole.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Mourinho said he’s “not aware of the possibility” before calling out “Peter Crouch”.
Crouch, who played 73 games for Spurs, took to Twitter with the following response:
I’m ready Jose #thereturn? https://t.co/krG510KV1K

And while the exchange appears very much tongue-in-cheek, plenty of Tottenham supporters are thinking along the lines of “well, why not?”
