Ben Chilwell completed 120 minutes in the Nations League defeat to Holland on Thursday night – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter ripped into the Leicester City defender for his performance.
The left-back played the full game, as England bowed out of the Nations League semi-finals following a 3-1 loss.
Gareth Southgate’s team were in front through Marcus Rashford in the first-half, but Matthijs de Ligt sent the match to extra-time.
England capitulated in the last half an hour, with individual errors from John Stones and Ross Barkley resulting in goals for the Dutch.
A selection of Spurs fans were closely watching Chilwell’s performance for England and he got the nod over Danny Rose in the starting XI.
The Telegraph reported back in September that Spurs were keeping tabs on Chilwell following his emergence at the King Power Stadium.
The report detailed that any potential bid was going to be put on standby until this summer when his deal entered it’s final two years, but he’s since penned a new deal to keep him with the Foxes until 2024.

Chilwell has managed to make himself a regular England international under Southgate and is a key player for Leicester too.
The 22-year-old showed his attacking qualities against Holland by bombing forward into attack, but he did have some nervous moment defensively too.
Some Spurs supporters weren’t impressed by the defender’s performance and believe their player Rose is the better option.
